    News owners whose pre-application process is approved will be notified via e-mail about the form and upload methods for sending news text and content.

    The Support tool to Empower Self-Employed Journalists is carried out within the scope of the Media 4 Democracy / Democracy 4 the Media Project, with the aim of supporting freelance journalists who are not affiliated with a media institution and organization with a permanent press employment contract.

    The Self-Employed Journalists Empowerment Support tool will be open for applications on September 1, 2022, and applications are planned to remain open until April 1, 2025.

    Within the scope of the support program; Applications can be made in the categories of news, research, news series, podcasts, video news and photo news. The news will be published on the ‘24 Saat’ newspaper, the daily local publication of the Association of Journalists, as well as on the web pages of the newspaper and the M4D Project, on the ‘9. Köy’ news site and on the YouTube account of the M4D Project.

    It is envisaged to provide support for a total of 442 news items during the application period.

    Applications will be made through the MIS (Online Application and Information System) system on the M4D Project website. To access the MIS system: http://misbasvuru.media4democracy.org/

     

    The Press House Support Tool (BEDA) is an in-kind support tool created within the scope of the Media 4 Democracy/Democracy 4 the Media (M4D) Project to provide the necessary environment for journalists to do quality journalism.

    Journalists, media organizations and non-governmental organizations operating in the field of media can apply to BEDA, which contributes to the creation of a suitable environment for media pluralism and freedom of the press, and to the creation of an environment where solidarity among journalists is strengthened.

    Within the scope of the M4D project, BEDA was opened to calls three times before. With the new term, it is planned to make a total of two support calls within the scope of BEDA.

    The first period of BEDA was opened for applications on September 1, 2022 and applications will continue to be received until November 7, 2022 at 17:00. The results of the first support period will be announced at the end of December 2022.

    The second term of BEDA will be opened for applications on September 1, 2023, and applications will continue until October 30, 2023.
